for someone with braces who had to relocate, would their braces have to be taken off by their current dentist (even if it wasn't time yet) before they leave because they were told their next dentist wouldn't handle a patient who's dental treatment was started by another? is that true? is that how it is? can't dentists endorse their patients along with all the health history, x-rays etc.?
Is this a dentist's protocol? (need answers from dentists pls)?
I've been in your same situation and you shouldn't need to have your braces taken off just because the receiving dentist doesn't want to handle a case started by someone else. I would definitely seek out the opinion of another dentist (preferably an orthodontist). An orthodontist is more likely to accept your case in progress. Good luck.
Reply:HELLO,
THIS CONCERN WOULD BE BEST ADDRESSED BY A NEW ORTHODONTIST WHO'D BE WILLING TO TAKE YOUR CASE.
CALL AND FIND OUT.
