Salaried dentist?

I've seen that dentists who own their own practive make about six figures or more. Does anyone know how much dentists who dont have their own practice and work for another dentist usually get paid per year?

Salaried dentist?
"Salaried" is a bad term for what you're asking about. Almost any dentist's pay is based on production (how much you *do*) and collections (how much people actually pay for what you do) or some combination of the two.

For example, you might go to work for another dentist, and get paid "30% of production." This means if you cement two $1,000 crowns, you would get $600. But if you get paid 30% of collections, and this patient only the half they were required to pay before the crowns were fabricated, you get $300 for the same amount of work.

The only truly salaried dentists I know of are in Public Health, Indian Health Services, branches of the military, etc.
Reply:60- 85,000 depends on what the practice or DDS wants to pay you.... RDH make $80,000 with 40hr schedule so to each is own..
Reply:It varies, from $80000 all the way to $240000.
