well i dont really wear my reatainers and i regret it....i have an overbite now...but my teeeth are still straight. well the back teeth are a little crooked but no one will see it only the dentist. I have a fear of going back for a cleaning because im thinking the dentist will see my overbite and ask me if i had braces yet...or if i wear retainers. i think im perfectly fine....will the dentist say something? or will he just do his job and clean my teeth and leave it to an orthodontist.

Well nobody can MAKE you get braces. But your dentist can suggest to you to go see an orthodontist who can that suggest to you to get braces... But again, nothing to be afraid of as it's YOUR choice! I went through the same thing, only I'm starting to develop an underbite.
Reply:teeth are his job and he would be negligent not to talk to you about the retainer. Your teeth will move back where they were and all that effort will be down the drain, not to mention $$$
Reply:Your general dentist can't make you do anything. However, he will recommend what is best for you.
