The Dentist turned my son away!!!!! :(My son is only 4) I have never been so mad. Need advise?

I made him a dentist appointment for 11:30 keep in mind this is a pediatric dentist. When I get their the lady said that his appointment was not until 1:00 pm. I was upset because I would have not wrote down 11:30am if that is not what I was told. She told me that she called to verify his coverage through peachcare and he did not have coverage she gave me the number to call. and told me to straighten everything out while waiting until 1:00pm.I went home and called I was told he had coverage and there is no problem.I should not have been told that.At 1:00 we go back up there I told the lady what she said, filled put papers and we were called back. I remind you he is 4 and this is his first time at the dentist so he started crying. as soon as he stared crying she told us to go ahead and leave b/c she was not going to put up with him crying. She said this is why I make app for in the morning(omg) i had one but was told 1:00 KIDS CRY??? What actions should I take against her?

You and your son did nothing wrong. The experience sounds like a nightmare. Be glad it's over. Don't ever go back.

You had that many problems at your first appointment. You could have expected further problems at the next ones with them. The receptionist sounds like a total idiot. She will lose the dentist so many patients with her incompetance that she'll probably lose her job anyway. In the meantime, you can warn your friends about them who will warn their friends who will warn their friends, etc.. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. You could also write to the dentist directly and tell him/her what a rude, witch the receptionist is.

Forget that dentist's office. Hopefully you live somewhere where you have more than one to choose from. Better luck at the next one.
Reply:Switch dentists, this one does not deserve your business.
Reply:i'd be mad, too (I would not have left, but asked to speak to one of the dentists). You could complain to somebody else in the office, but no point having her raise your blood pressure any higher. Let it go and switch dentists.
Reply:OMG....i really dont know what action you can do, iguess just let us know what Dentist it is because i know i will never go there..
Reply:Settle down and go ahead and make the appointment, but I suggest you make a letter to either the head dentist of the office or the Better Business Bureau. It was completely uncalled for, rude and ignorant of her. Best of luck, and if you need more advice on this topic, feel free to give me an email (it's posted on my profile).
Reply:I would not only switch dentists, but I would write that dentist an angry letter detailing the unprofessional behavior of the office staff.

You have every right to be angry, but it will not do you much good. Put your anger into a really good letter. Tell about her attitude, her disorganization, and her lack of professionalism.

good luck with the new dentist!
Reply:He should have gone before the age of 4.I have worked as a dental nurse and had crying children as a result of there parents not bringing them at a young age and as a result had things chucked at me and kicked. You can't treat a child that's crying and kicking etc .So no action its your fault at the end of the day.
Reply:if this was all office staff then i would call and ask to speak with the dentist or whoever is in charge of the clinic

if it was the dentist being rude then i would call the better business bereau and let them know and i would change dentists
Reply:Find a different dentist. The one we go to specialize in children. Look around at children dentistry in your area ask friends and family for recommendations. I honestly would not go back there again, that is not the way I would want my dentist to treat my children.

Good luck
