I don't trust dentists at all. To me they are up there with mechanics because it is hard to second guess them. I was just at one dentist in july who said i needed a filling replaced (which i knew about) and that i had a small cavity in one of my wisdom teeth so she sent me for a consult to have my wisdom teeth removed. I thought I finally had a good dentist, but it turns out she is not actually on my plan (i made a mistake) so I had to pay more than expected and am not going back to her.
I was overseas in August and had the filling replaced ($25 instead of $120!). That dentist said I had no other cavities and leave my wisdom teeth. I went for the consult anyway and he said I have 2 large cavities in my wisdom teeth ?!? I went to a 4th dentist for another opinion and she said I have no cavities in my wisdom teeth, BUT I have 2 fillings that need to be replaced and if I don't it could lead to root canal. Basically I didn't get the same answer twice. WHAT SHOULD I DO??????
Dentist says i need 2 fillings replaced?
dentristy overseas is way diffrent.
i would reccomend going back to that dentist you trust. sometimes a lil money can pay off real good
Reply:they are dumba$$es. I hate dentists. i dunno what to do. they lie just to get paid. they dont care about your teeth.
Reply:You need to go to someone on your plan that is recommended, granted it can be hard to find a good dentist but go with someone a co-worker or friend recommends. Also overseas dentistry is not the same as American Dentistry ... maybe you can ask the first dentist to recommend someone on your plan.
Most dentists don't think wisdom teeth are good, in fact I would look into having them removed before problems begin ... also ask questions on why something needs to be replaced and pay attention.
