Should I sue my dentist office?

November 03 I went to the dentist for crowns. I was told it would cost around $1700.00 for the crowns so I pulled out a loan for $1500. The work was started and I was given temporary crowns. Then I was told that I needed to have crown length surg. I went to the periodontist and made an appt January 04. That was to cost an additional $1800 so I took another loan for $1500. I got pregnant and was told to postpone the appt until after he was born in September 04 and after I was done nursing. I went to resume the work on my mouth in February 2007. During this whole time I had continued to see a dentist to make sure the temporaries were still good (they looked bad). When I went back there was a new dentist who took one look at the temps and told me to come back that day to get new ones because they were so horrible, which is what I kept saying. The dentist office had taken all my money for work I never received. When I resumed work they told me they had already made my permanents and they were waiting for me to get the crown lengthening (which my new dentist told me I never needed even after three years of having temps I still don’t need). They wanted me to PAY AGAIN! I contacted the ins. co. and they are taking care of it but the dentist office keeps harassing me and lying to me. They never made my permanents, never made an impression, I never needed crown length, they send me letters threatening to send me to collections. There has to be something more I can do to them besides reporting them to the insurance co. I didn’t get my permanents until Oct 2007. That is four years of them lying to me and trying to steal my money. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You went through a lot of unnecessary stress, that's for sure. I suggest you speak to a lawyer to get a legal opinion. I don't know if this qualifies as medical malpractice or not, but the lawyer should be able to help you. Good luck!!
Reply:SUE now!
Reply:If you think you can win yes.

If you have no idea NO
Reply:absolutely! i would definatelt sue. U need to get yourself a lawyer.
Reply:I would fight having to pay for work not done, and even if they did make the permanents that is not your problem, you should not have to pay for something that is not required, and not put in place. It is the dentists negligence not yours.
Reply:they are horrible. had same problem with a crown of mine. they still want 2500 after i payed them. i would call the better bussiness burera make a report. best i can tell ya. take them to court
