Dentist/Doctor?

OK, i always thought a dentist was a type of doctor, so ever since middel school i thought i would take the Mcat and go to med school and specialize in dentistry........... But that isn't the case anymore, someone told me dentist go to DENTAL school...... so now what do i have to do to become a dentist and are there other types of dentist?

Reply:You must enquire in your area as in my locality we have a dental hospital. You get your science qualifications and you can go to med school as they delve deeper into the facial bone structures etc. If you look on the internet, these facts should be able to be found for your area.
Reply:Sure there are different types of dentist. Becoming a dentist is basically the same as becoming a doctor - except you go to dental school after college - not medical school. In college you follow the same pre med program which is basically a few set science and math subjects taken in virtually any major.
